Here’s a list of tunes that suit the Classic Quinn; old fashioned, but never out of style! Some are the originals that were remade to be featured in the new Suicide Squad movie, and others feel like they were written to describe the crazy in love clown.
You Don’t Own Me – Lesley Gore
Even though being owned by Joker is the origin of our favorite jester, modern fans have flocked to this 60’s feminist classic as Harley Quinn’s personal theme song.
Maybe I Know – Lesley Gore
This song suits the Classic Quinn’s story a little more. The Joker may be cheatin’ scum, but he’s HER cheatin’ scum.
Be My Baby – The Ronettes
“I’ll make you happy baby, just wait and see. For every kiss you give me, I’ll give you three!” Part of me thinks Harley Quinn herself wrote this song.
I Started a Joke – Bee Gees
Another song that has been revamped to suit Suicide Squad. And with good reason; the song fits both of our clown villains beautifully. The tragic lyrics seem particularly fitting for Harley, when she begins to question her loyalties.
Femme Fatale – Nico & The Velvet Underground
“She’s got to smile to make you frown, what a clown.” And no one can argue that Harley Quinn isn’t a fatal woman!
Bang Bang – Nancy Sinatra
This baby’s got a distinctly creepy vibe… which suits the Harley/Joker pair perfectly.
“Bang bang, he shot me down
Bang bang, I hit the ground
Bang bang, that awful sound
Bang bang, my baby shot me down”
And no Retro Harley Quinn songlist would be complete without her own little number, Say We’re Sweethearts Again!
